Where are you from originally? I was born in New York City, raised in New Jersey,
traveled the world until I lived in the bay area of California.
How long have you lived in Chattanooga? I’m very new to Chattanooga, have lived here since last July, so not even a year.
Tell us about your childhood: My childhood was filled by moving around a lot and adventure. Raised by a single, hardworking mother and always taught to look at life through a curious, bright and wondrous set of eyes.
Do you have a nick name? My clever nickname has usually been “Ev”, but my trail friends back on the east coast called me “Totem”.
When were you introduced to Yoga? I started the practice and lifestyle of Yoga a few years ago and it changed my life. A whole spectrum of physical wellness, spiritual connection, and close community has been gifted to me by the universe since then.
How do yoga and the community play a role in your life? Yoga isn’t just a sequenced practice on the mat. You take it with you throughout your day, and share it with every single person, animal or object that comes your way in a beautiful exchange of energy.
What pose do you love the most and why? My favorite pose is Bakasana (crow). I flip my perspective, feel my feet grounded in the sky, and feel as if I am holding up the Earth myself.
What is your favorite quote? “We’re all just walking each other home.” ~Ram Dass
