Where are you from originally? I was born in NYC, but grew up in sunny South Florida
How long have you lived in Chattanooga? Going on three years now. Although I love beaches and non-existent winters, I was looking for a change of scenery and found myself Instantly drawn to the mountains and general natural beauty that TN has to offer (yay for elevation)!
Tell us about your childhood: My childhood was spent mostly playing; outside, with friends, dolls, video games, alone…it didn’t matter. I enjoyed making up and telling stories, and trying new ways to be athletic. At around 5 years I got into Ballet/tap and martial arts, and continued with those into my teens. I had a lot of energy and an overactive imagination.
Do you have a nickname? As keen as others have been to give me one, nothing has ever stuck.
When were you introduced to Yoga? As a young teen, fortunately, my mother kept a few workout dvds around, and the yoga/Pilates workouts were always the most impactful for me.
How do yoga and the community play a role in your life? Yoga has become a way for me to heal, physically and mentally. A practice that I could spend my life learning new things about, and challenging myself with. It evolves with time yet holds true to its deeper meaning which is ultimately timeless, and can be something different for everyone that discovers it.
What pose do you love the most and why? I love Dancers Pose very much. To me it is the embodiment of grace and strength, and is just a lot of fun to do.
